What to expect during the paramedical exam
Most traditional life insurance policies require a medical exam as part of underwriting. Understanding the process helps you prepare and potentially qualify for better health class ratings.
The exam is conducted by a licensed paramedical examiner at your home or office, is free of charge, and typically takes 20-30 minutes. For those who prefer to skip the exam, no-exam options are available.
Height, weight, blood pressure (seated and standing), pulse, and heart rate measurements.
Small blood draw (typically 2-3 vials) for comprehensive lab analysis of health markers.
Standard urinalysis to check for glucose, protein, and other health indicators.
Detailed questions about medical history, medications, family health, and lifestyle factors.
For higher coverage amounts or older applicants, an electrocardiogram may be included.
The entire process typically takes 20-30 minutes at your preferred location and time.
